Re: New VR6 swap question (theRiby)

You can fit almost anything with enough money.
If you are refering to the 24v Vr6. I think you would need the tranny too, because the new engine, and old tranny aren't compatible. Maybe with a custom bell housing? you'd also need the ECU, wiring harness, Probably fuse block. I think the accelerator is electronic on the new ones but I'm not 100% sure.
Anyway, It's definately not plug and play.

Re: New VR6 swap question (jhayesvw)

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the head is a little taller than on the 12v. Probably something you could make up for by modifying the engine mount brakets. Don't the new MK4's have a common wiring harness for the entire car, everything thing in one? This could be a wiring nightmare, but if the desire/knowledge/funds/patience are there I say go for it http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: New VR6 swap question (markymark420)

If you would have to replace so much you might also want to ask about putting the newer R32 3.2 L 24Valve in.
But then the weight distibution might be worse.
