i probably shouldn't even ask this...i've got a new engine going in, should i replace the water pump while it's all out? it's got around 70k on it and showing no signs of being bad, should i go ahead and put a new one in, or save the money?

ya i would, and the timing belt and tensioner..

be careful not to break all the bolts when taking them off of the watercooler.

yeah, good idea to replace all that. but if you do break off the little water pump bolts, new housings can be had cheap, like $20 online, i paid $29 for mine cuz i needed it that day.
