Watch your gauges carefully.. If they start binking and says "Danger to Manifold" let go of the gas.

i mean would i like blow the motor up? my friend says we could retard the timing alittle so when the nitrous hits it dosnt have to much timing. i think 30 extra Hp in this car would make it pretty quick. Any ideas on what it runs stock?? 17.5's maybe 18.0's???

you need to read some more. really.
a 30 shot is no big deal. and is not gonna make your car an R8 killer.
and If you have a good daily and no money to fix it, dont mess with the
Unkown.

 

ya im just looking for alittle more i dont plan on beating much. my buddy nows a fare amount about them so he can help me kinda. i have the money to fix it thats not the problem. if not nitrous is there any other power adders that would be noticable??

Why even bother with a 30shot?you'd have a better increase in ditching some dead weight and getting a header/catback.

there are a couple things you need to understand about nitrous.
one of them is that a small shot of nitrous with the proper fuel can be fairly safe...
nitrous contains more oxygen molecules then the standard air that would be drawn into your cylinders. there for it can bind to more fuel molecules, creating more combustion and therefore makes more power. basically nitrous makes it so you can use more fuel.
its very similar to forced induction actually.
one of the things you have to worry about is nitrous being sprayed into the motor and then leaning it out becuase there isn't enough fuel.

the other big thing to worry about is that with the standard air that your motor draws in has more nitrogen molecules then the nitrous. its these molecules that, aren't being burned, that carry the heat out of the motor. and with less nitrogen molecules you can over heat.
basically with a wet shot you need to get enough fuel... otherwise BOOM.

well for one its cheaper and two its only there when you need it...

 

get sticky tires/light weight wheels and a short shift kit, chip, cam and cat-back...good tires alone will make you car go down the track faster than adding a 30 shot on a stock set-up.

 

and to add to my state ment above...
basically. its safe with the correct fuel BUT you have to understand that there is goign to be more pressure in the cylinder and there for A LOT more wear on your internals. im not saying a 35 wet shot will destroy your motor but it will deffinatly help in the....aging process...

 

save that money and use it build up a motor the way you want to. nitrous is the easy way for more power. do it right.

leave the nitrous for the fun projects. keep your daily safe. it will have enough problems as it is.

 

Straight up NO! your car *probably* can't take any nitrous without strengthening up the internals, and with 213,000 unless your looking to just blow your engine and pay money doing it, don't do it

 

it can handle it, it pretty hard to blow up 8v's....i've tried a few times, they seem to handle some boost just fine so i imagine a 30 wet shot aint gunna hurt much

yeah, i would imagine a well tuned 30 shot similar to about 3-5 psi of boost.

Its will work just fine. Ive seen it done. Just be smart about using it. I would also say dont put it on WOT activation cause if your in 5th gear on the highway and floor it for a bit, your getting more nitrous compared to the amount of fuel. And thats when it goes boom. So do it, just not on WOT activation.
Oh and dont be surprised if it doesn't add 30 extra HP.

when you hook nitrous up to WOT your not making the on off switch WOT what your doing is making it so you can activate your nitrous but even while activated unless your at WOT you won't get any spray.... so that way if you have your nitrous activated and forget and let your foot off a little you won't lean out or anything...
its not going to be noticeable unless your comparing track times or dyno numbers...
what are you driving a 1.8 8v on digi 2?
stock you will run high 17's probably.
with that 30 wet shot you might break into 16's but i doubt it.
if you want to see a serious gain you would buy a aba bottom end and have the head milled a few times. that and a mild cam, chip, and bigger exhaust would get you to low 16's no question.

save your money and spend it on suspension not NOS. corners are more fun than straight lines IMO.
built it right, build it once and have fun. most importantly SEARCH you might learn something useful.
