Yes, for 2002 the 1.8T is not availible in Golf's anymore

I think it has to do with most of the 1.8T engines being used in Passat's and GTI's, combined with a low demand for the 1.8T in Golfs. (most are 2.0's)....which leaves none for the Golf

The golf 1.8t started production in mid 2000 and stopped in mid 2001. I honsetly don't think VW stopped production because it was cutting into GTI sales.
I believe it's the exact opposite. The car DIDNT sell at all. Many didn't even know it existed. I didn't until I actually saw one in a dealership. I'm very happy with my car. Identical to the GTI , +2 doors and less of the extras i didnt want.
Price before taxes tags, title, etc etc... was 17.9 (with rims and sunroof) http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

VW over-advertised the New Beetle and Jetta.
No one knows the GTI's and Golf's exist.
