one thing i really like about the Chase Engineering team is that they found a gap in the rules and exploited it. the CCE-DP is not only being offered at a competitive price, but looks awesome too.

“The car will be delivered to the team in October”, stated Dan Fite of Chase Competition Engineering. We are looking forward to working with Larry and Chris as they develop their Rolex Daytona Prototype effort. Chase Competition is now the 5th Daytona Prototype manufacturer that will have cars in competition. The Silverstone Racing Services team will be joined by two additional teams (ACP Motorsports and Odyssey Motorsports) that have committed to the Chase-Chevy powered car.”
The Silverstone Racing Services Team will continue to field their current GSI Corvette for the remainder of the year and will run selected events in the Chase-Chevy powered Daytona Prototype in preparation for a full season in 2004.
some body mold photos are here:

anyone notice an uncanny resemblance to another car
? that resemblance is indeed by design and not coincidental.
along with the two Speedsource Multimatic Ford Focus prototypes, this is going to be a pretty nice battle in 2004! the Chase guys are just full of the kind of down-home ingenuity that makes racing great to watch.

Re: nultiple new Daytona Prototypes from Chase Engineering! (Obin Robinson)

I find it interesting you make no mention of the fact that Mosler gave the body deisgn to Chase, it is a Mosler body because the Mosler GTS had even more restrictions bestowed upon it three weeks ago to make it even more uncompetitive with the tube frame AGT cars.
Sure it is cool about another potential daytona prototype on the grid, but at the loss of one of the cooler GTS cars in existence is a shame really. Grand-Am could have grandfathered the Mosler into the DP class, but it didn't.
