Hello everyone ! New here and new to volkswagens. From the experience so fat up until now I've loved it and left my Cobra parked longer than usual.

So, here is the timeline of events and hopefully someone will be able to help!
I replaced the camshaft position sensor because I was getting a code for it being faulty
Method used was pull the timing belt off, remove the sprocket, replace sensor, reverse installed.
When me and my friend reattached it, he knocked the cam out of time.
Fired it up a few times and it was all jacked.
Rotated the cam sprocket and eventually it wouldn't even start.
We jacked up the car, verified TDC on the crank sprocket and cam sprocket.
Reconnected, immediately fires up and then starts detonating(I might be wrong in that), and P0302 pops up(cylinder 2 misfire)
Any suggestions on a fix? Possible it's just flooded and needs to be driven for a lil?
Thank you so much in advance for the help!

I never added we had already replaced sparkplugs snd all. As we moved plugs around we saw the misfire shift about.
Turned out AutoZone had a batch of bad plugs...
Swapped out autolites for NGK iridiums, gapped them, all is good again!
For having 155k this literally looks and runs like new.
