OBDeleven coding master list thread

I'm posting this up so we can have a master list of OBDeleven coding. Like me, I have had an OBDeleven for quite a while but have only used credits to make the two changes I've made on my Golf R, Euro tail lights and soundakor. Other than that it seems foreign to me how to code to make changes, hence this thread to help those like myself and all the new '17 R members.
So, copy/paste, add, share all your OBDeleven tweaks here so we all can benefit and help members.

Subscribed. Just got mine for my birthday last week. So far I changed the comfort blinker from 3 to 5 and used credits to make my passenger mirror dip. I'm a bit confused about how to translate Ross-Tech VCDS instructions into OBDeleven instructions, but there are other things I'd like to try.

#4 ·
It's quite easy to translate from VCDS to OBDeleven. They both use the same structure and hierarchy of functions for the most part.

Window control from FOB
Window control from door
DRL only on Coming Home/Leaving Home
DRL on/off from settings
Full gauge Illumination on parking lights
Comfort blinkers to 4 blinks
Fan speed shown while in Auto
LED tail lights with rear fog
Soundaktor to 25% volume

That's what I've done so far using VCDS coding instructions on my OBDeleven.

Generally I agree with you. I have had no trouble doing things described in VCDS using the OBDeleven.

But... lemme know how you make out with the high beam assist. For me, this is where it breaks down.

Lots of useful info here:

http://obdeleven.proboards.com/thread/167/coding-adaptations

If what you seek is not in that thread, the board has many topics which likely hold the answer: http://obdeleven.proboards.com/board/81/mk7

I've coded my DRLs to remain on 100% even with the HID headlamps on, and disabled the turn-signal wink.

Most recently, I've coded my new carbon-fiber power-folding mirrors, which are spectacular :)
What mirrors did you get?

Please recall, this thread is to be a end-all be-all for people using OBDeleven, so my intention is to have members dump a bunch of info in here from how to translate to step by step instructions for all the members here from old to new.

#9 ·
You're right so let's get back to basics.

Generally, all the VCDS directions start with a control module followed by adaptations.

Once your the app syncs up with your car, you start by choosing a control module (central electrics, etc.). Then you chose adaptation from the resulting menu and find the particular adaptations required by the coding tweak you want to do.

The more you use it, the more things become clear.

Display current DSG gear in the in MFD in both drive and sport mode.

Has anyone figured out how to accomplish this feature from the APR TCU upgrade? Gotta be coding...

"Gear Display Activated - Shows the current gear in the factory multi functional display in both drive and sport mode."

Been busy accumulating credits for VIM. Finally got 100+ at the rate of 5 free credits/day...

It's been discussed on the VCDS thread, consensus seems to be that it's part of the TCU firmware and you can't access it via OBD11/VCDS. Stands to reason, the only way to get it seems to be through one of the tuners TCU flashes.

I've only done the 'open exhaust valves' [emoji106]
what is mirror dip? do you have to buy an aftermarket mirror with motor?
Nope. It just makes your passenger mirror glass angle down when reversing so you can avoid curbing your wheels. No additional hardware necessary.

If anyone has any clue on how to enable heated mirrors when the ambient temperature is ABOVE 68 degrees F, please tell me. I use this feature when driving in rain on my other vehicle and it keeps my mirrors nice and water-free.

I know it doesn’t get over 68 degrees in Germany very often, but allowing the heated mirrors to work in ANY temperature would really be a godsend.
