My 2018 Tiguan SE AWD was purchased in September 2017, so the battery is now five plus years old. The current stop/start technology uses less battery energy to start the car. In the past I have proactively replaced the battery on my previous new VWs (three) at this interval. How long have your batteries bin lasting?

If you haven't already read this it might be worth your while to do so....
There is little bit "more" to changing batteries in VW's (nothing terrible)...

In my climate (deep cold at times -35C/-31F for a few days a year), typically every 5 years I replace, before failure.

I'm sure someone from the hotter parts of the US can chime in, they have similar if not shorter timelines due to the heat.

If there have been any "dead battery" events, you can reduce that time frame.

My 2018 is also on the original battery.

I am in New Jersey.

How long are others getting with the original battery in NJ?
