Hello everyone,
I just got the factory in-dash CD player, plugged it into the head unit, and plugged in the changer, and everything works. However, the eject and the select buttons don't light up, yet they look like they should. Has anyone else bumped into this? And if so, is there a solution?
Thanks!
Matt

Re: OEM in-dash CD ... Do the buttons light up? (tsukurite)

I called the dealer about this problem, and they said that none of them light up. That's gotta be BS, as the ad that tsukurite included shows the buttons lighting up.
Also, I found a small 2-pin port in the back of the CD player that's unused. I wonder if that's where the switched power for the headlights plugs in?
I'm sure that someone out there in Vortexland knows the answer to this. Anyone?

Yup they do light up. 2-pin connector, eh?
Looky here:

That's from my car a few months ago. You can just make out two wires leaving the CD harness. I can't remember what was on the end of those wires though...

try increasing the brightness of the interior lighting. It worked for me.

Re: OEM in-dash CD ... Do the buttons light up? (ambat)

Well, yesterday, I pulled both the CD player and the head unit, and found that there is no harness for the CD player lighting anywhere in the area that the main harness is. I was thinking of going the route of tapping into the lighting for the head unit and the ground, and running them over to the two-pin plug, and "make" my own. Does anyone know which two wires these are? I'm kinda tired of having the CD player completely dark aside from the CD-in light.
Thanks!
Matt
