Hi! I picked up an OEM rack for dirt cheap. No key or torque T wrench. Can I order a replacement N021 key for it from Thule or have to order a key from dealer? Also how do I get around to torque it properly w/o the T wrench? Any advice appreciated.

That's probably why you got it dirt cheap from the seller. Replacement parts have to be ordered from the dealership.
I was hoping I could get around that somehow, they're like 20 each. oh well

1. just snug it up with a allen wrench.

I tried one a VW dealer sold me 'n021'. no fit at all.
Can you post a picture of the pice you're trying to unlock/lock?

JUST found another part number for a 21 key on another forum. Someone said it worked perfectly with this rack. ordered it. will see Tuesday

I took it to REI. The VW roof rack core and Thule core swapped effortlessly. if that helps at all.

Lol helps a lot. I bought a big pack of Rockymounts cores years ago because I hate having too many different keys. They use the same core as Thule.
No. cannot find the mk5 rack so I got the mk7 rack for real cheap ($50). thought it would.

that makes sense....fwiw you should be able to get $100-250 for it.
