Base engine is the new Hemi 5.7, with 345 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. The Cummins 5.9 inline-six diesel jumps to 305 hp and 555 lb-ft of torque, handily beating the Duramax and Powerstroke diesels. Thankfully, it retains the solid front axle of the old models. I just wish they had styled it a bit differently from the 1/2 ton model.

I think 1 ton dually pickups are an absolute necessity for a large number of people. Don't complain. This is a work vehicle. Unless you know a way to tow a decent sized trailer with a GTI...

While I agree that large trucks are a necessity for a lot of people, living in Texas I see a lot of huge trucks that are always clean and are not used in their intended manner. ******** just like to have the biggest truck available, whether they need it or not.
People need to star making wider roads if car/truck sizes are gonna keep growing like this!!

Well, if I ever have a 5th wheel trailer, or am towing my 32' sailboat that I plan on buying when I have the S8 and the money (hehehe) I may need something this big, and this is the one I would buy. Until that day, no thank you

I work at a software company in town, and it amazes me the number of geeks here that have huge fricken 3/4- and 1- ton pickups they use to commute with... and then they take up two parking spots in the garage. Agh.
One guy has a Chevy dualie that he lowered so it's only about 1/4" above the tires.. wtf?!
Re: Official Pictures: 2003 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 (Enthusiast)
Now this is a better bet:
With a 1¼ ton payload http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
[Edit]With a braked limit of 2000kg on the trailer (4400lb), 97mph top end and fuel consumption between 29 (urban) and 43 (country) - not bad for a 102bhp/184lbft 2.5 litre diesel
- cost in the UK is just under £19000 (just under US$27000)
Re: Official Pictures: 2003 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 (ClownCar)
Aaah, the time Fleetwoods had a 133" wheelbase
True, but not so you'd notice. I mean, while many older American cars are bigger than most SUVs in terms of dimensions it doesn't look so to the naked eye unless you're really close up or step inside. Height and ground clearance makes a BIG difference to size appearance.
