Re: Official Pictures: 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra (CanuckPal)
Too bad they couldn't improve the looks, the front end looks like a Sentra Se-r. Still 4x4ing too. Blech! Still the ugly, weaker step-brother to the corvette.
Re: Official Pictures: 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra (KonigGTI)
It isn't a Corvette competitor; it isn't the same type of car at all. It's a pony car. An upright 2+2, not a 2 seater. It's a $35k car, not a $50k car. I think it looks tough and muscular.
BTW, I think most new cars are 4x4ing... That's what lowering springs are for...
Re: Official Pictures: 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra (CanuckPal)
They still gotta do something with those fake intakes in front of the rear wheels.
Either make em real, or remove em and smooth the body!
Other than that, not bad!
Re: Official Pictures: 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra (KonigGTI)
yes supposed sports cars! Look at the Celica or RSX. Granted that's a different price/performance class, but they are sporty coupes, and they're very tall.

Are you a smurf?
The Celica comes up to my waist. I wouldn't consider that very tall.

Re: Official Pictures: 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra (CanuckPal)
Just a correction, it's 390 lb-ft. @ 3500 RPM. Other details include an Eaton Roots type supercharger with an water-to-air intercooler @ 8 psi and 13" Brembo/PBR front discs, 11.65" rear discs. Also, "suede-like" seating inserts are available too.
With a cat-back system, Bassini x-pipe, and a K&N you will be pushing over 400 hp, 400 lb-ft!
Re: Official Pictures: 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra (CanuckPal)
YA more horsepower then a Corvette, more Trq! " those things are finally getting some power" What? 320 for the last model, a 13.4 car in the quarter mile and a top speed of a 160 no problem???? Some power finally what do you drive butters? Because the last time I checked 320 horse was ample horse power!
Let me guess Konig got one of those supper low GTIs with the factory sports suspension? It sits low like a real sports car! You wouldnt know a sports car if it bit you on your ass! You drive a GTI or for that matter any form of VW and they are far from a sports car!
Its amazing that people could spend so much time on this site and still be as damn dumb as they are when it comes to cars!
This car kicks ass and your just jealous! I am going to buy one just to spank old white haired bastards in their precious 911s and maybe some of you dips!ht frat boys and your chipped 1.8T

OK rant over! I dig the New Cobra looks sweet great performance per dollar! I will take mine in shadow gray !
Re: Official Pictures: 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra (TLP)
I would take this in a second. HP per dollar ratio is fantastic with a $35k pricetag. If you can turn up the boost (and you almost always can), this thing would be very tuneable. Think F-150 Lightning without the bed.
Re: Official Pictures: 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra (lip)
I'm glad SVT kept the looks understated, but they've always let the engine do the talkin. Anyone know what kinda gear ratios it has? because i know thats a weak spot with the current ones.
Re: Official Pictures: 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra (wdegroot)
The car is cool and all, but how could you drop $35k on this car when the 2005(?) mustang will be totally new: stiffer, redone suspension, etc.
I'm sure the suspension on the new mustangs will be worth the wait. Ford seems to be real good at suspension design lately (SVT Focus).
Anyone know what exactly is to be changed on the redesign???

He meant wheel well gap. That's the 4x4 comment. And a lot of stock sports and sporty cars have horrible wheel well gap.
