Do anybody else have this problem and if so...what am I doing wrong? After about 6,000 miles my oil pan gasket will start to leak...I use a rubber gasket and torque the pan using the appropriate spec. The only thing I can think of is that I use synthetic 5w-50. Would this oil grade be to fine and leaking right through the oil pan gasket.

I'd try a different oil pan. Your's maybe a little bent if the PO cranked everything down too tight.

Are you sure its the pan gasket? If your front main oil seal leaks, it will travel around the bottom lip of the block and down the back of the pan.

i would use the stock cork gasket , it will get brittle but they stay sealed untill that time.

im using the same 5-50 syn and no problems i would try a new pan like kervin said does not take much to leak

Thanks for all the good advice...i'll have to try a different oil pan....rock on!!!
