i have been a happy owner since i purchased the '01 B5.5 GLS V6 4Motion July last year. and yes, i'm loving her since day one.

from this winter season, i have noticed my engine works much harder in the cold. althought i am not sure how functional an Oil Reservoir Heater is, but i am aware that VW sell them for the 1.8Ts only. how about for V6 engines?
are there anyone who knows more about this?
TIA

Re: Oil Reservoir Heater (hafa_adai)

I recall that one of the recent VW parts catalogs has a "VW approved" engine oil reservoir heater - for an inflated price. Check http://www.engineheaters.com They (among others) have a variety of sizes of easily installed heater units which are a boon to those of you driving in the Northland of sub-zero starting temperatures. I helped my daughter install one of these on my pre-Passat Accord - a 45-60 minute job which helps ease starting and immensely speeds warmup time.
