rescently went back home hor turkey day and it was really cold, especially at night. And im always in san diego but in the mornings or at night after no car use when i turned her on, the oil temp light would beep and flash, the temp read 0degz, any thoughts? didnt know the car needed to be warmed up, becuase i would just start the car, put it in drive and leave and the light would shoot up and beep! so i turned her off, checked the oil, gas cap, looked for funny stuff or sounds in idle and it was all ok,,, doh

Very strange. Are you sure it was temp and not oil pressure? I live in a colder place than you and visit MA quite a bit in the winter, and have never had this happen.
