I have a 2002 Jetta GLS which I get the oil changed on every 5000 miles. It seems I add almost a quart of oil between changes. Is this normal?

my 2000 gls drinks oil like a drunk drinks beer
every 800-1000 miles i gotta get an oil change cuz its bone dry :/

Is the GLS on the 2.0 as well? Because 1.8T's don't normally burn oil, the 2.0 is notorious for burning oil.

My VR6 doesn't burn oil either; in fact, the last I checked it, it was not only full, but relatively clean!
