Re: Ok dumb question.... (FoxWagonGuy)

Some early Rabbits had carbs. If you plugged the injector holes on a CIS or Digifant head then the carb manifold (or one of the aftermarkets setups, if they're still to be found) could be used. There were Webers in both downdraft and sidedraft configurations in use. Of course using such a setup would not be street legal in the US.

Yeah, but you 'vair people are kinda krazy!
Or maybe "crazy like a fox" since with carbs you can use a much wilder cam (or cams - a 16V with a bank of sidedrafts is really impressive).

”what did those Corvairs run in the 0-60 times. They are the neatest cars.”
-- 10 seconds w/ 4 carbs.

“until you tried to take a turn, the feds said.
Then, the fun began.”
--No that was an ambulance-chasing publicity-seeking lawyer that said/wrote that.
Imagine a lawyer offering to blame the Tera-Fox crash on VW and suing VW on a contingency basis (no cost to you, only a cut of the award). A lot of people (out of greed or to avoid blame) would/did take the bait.
Also, per the DOT study (that was _not_ a best seller) the early Corvair generated more G’s that other cars of its time. And the later Corvairs w/ full independent rear suspension handled even better – ask someone who ownes/owned one.
On second thought, I take it all back. They are dangerous cars. If anyone reading this has a nice 65-69 140hp coupe or convertible you should get rid of it before you kill yourself. You can sell it to me cheap.
