ok i just need to vent on something i just read in the new nhra compact rule book. this pertains to mostly us lysholm guys in that we are not permitted to run in any class (not even bracket) in the new structure. they have banned the screw charger for some odd reason. i think this is staight bullsh&t and i am really p*ssed off about it. can anyone enlighten me as to why they may have done this......... oooohhh damn nhra crap!!!!!! anyway i dont feel much better so im going to b*tch to them directly.
I'll wait for you to cool down before I offer you a 6-pk for the lysolm I'm sure you will keep us posted on this topic.
Sorry to here you are getting screwed(sorry it was too easy) seriously I imagine you are ready to throw down so I'll shut up now. It does $uck
lol that was great its not that i wont beable to race at all but not at sanctioned events. i just cant think of a good no bs reason for this rule. i guess they just dont want a charger that in there that can keep pace with most turbos
. i dont know i had to make myself feel better. anyway thanks for the post it was funny......
nah sorry bro i aint that pissed off.....i built the car for me not a damn sanctioned racing body. just put a bug up my arse . still cant think of a good reason why they have that rule though.
I think that it has to do with the fact that the old drag cars used screw compressors on them. They had a problem with them blowing up when the car had any kind of back presure. It sucks that they would do that with the screw compressor on the Corrado because it would do that with the way it is designed. If you could prove that to them they might change the rule. Need to do a little more homework to find out for sure.
ok heres the latest i just check my mail in in there was a reply from the nhra. i figured id post it for you all to read.
Paul,
We should really clarify this....we are prohibiting the racing type screw blowers not the street type, we will probably place a rules revision on the website stating this. We will have a list that shows what type of street screw blowers are accepted in the Sport Compact Series. Keep an eye on the website for some revisions also let me know the type of blower you are using if it is not the original VW Corrado type.
Technical Services
so hopefully we are not "banned"
that could be a song ......i was banned, banned in the nhra.....lalala......well maybe not
being 100% serious i seriously doubt that many if any of us are going to be racing on the NHRA circuit.
Just curious..why NHRA and not NIRA?? i mean thats where the guy with the "feria" is tryin to get to in The Fast and The Furious. ok that last part was a joke
im not really planning on running in the circuit but its just the point. if choose to go to local event and its sanctioned i cant run what the hell is that. but i htink its all taken care of now
well most tech will know by the sound that its not stock...but thats not here nor there since the lysholm will be accepted....i feel a little better now.
