i won't have any left over trust me.....i need to go out and buy a bunch more...especially if i am doing 2 layers. i plan to add a system in the not too distant future, but you guys have to agree the road noise from the pilot sports on the highway can get annoying...not to mention my exhaust drone when cruising. it's not terrible, but still annoying.

I can barely hear the road noise, just the wind when i drive fast.

i don't get annoyed by the pilots enough to sound proof my car... but whatever floats your boat.... the stuff works well... i don't know about 5 layers like some guy was saying in the golf iv forum.... 1 or 2 should do you nice.... 1 in most spots though...

like i stated previously, it's not just the pilot sports, it's the exhaust and the fact that i am going to be installing a system with subs in the near future. otherwise, i can see how you might think i was crazy! LOL!

I used one layer of Dynamat Extreme and it worked really well. Don't forget to do the hatch it vibrates bad when 3 12's are bumpin.

Its a lot of work, but worth it in the end. I did my last GTI and couldn't believe the difference (ie no road noise), that was until I install the system. Than I doubt I would have heard the noise anyway

what's even more silly is i need to drive the car tonight....so i am going to drape the carpeting back in but not install it and drop in the seats, hook up the airbags. my girlfriend is so mad at me right now.

Dude you're insane. You should have installed the system first to see if you can still hear the road/exhaust noise. I have 2 1000 watt subs and a 1200 watt amp with the stock monsoon mids and highs and I can't hear anything but the music when I turn it up. I didn't put down one piece of dynamat. No rattles either.

yo dude ........ you got issues ....... i have 1 jl w7 12'' ,,, 4 jl audio xr mids and 4 jl xr highs ,,,,, 2 phenox gold titanium amps 1 1200 watts pumping 12'' sub ,,, and phenox gold titanium 540 watts pushing mids and highs and i dont hear sh*t ........ i paid $ 10,000.00 for my system with navi ect....... and i would have never did what you did ,,,,, thats deep
