Omaha Dealership Story - (Funny occurence)

So I go back to CB/Omaha for the family thing on Turkey day, and I decide to go browse the VW dealership while I was in town. A friend and I went in on Friday, in part to only look at the cars and maybe take a test drive (why not!?). So we step into the dealership and someone pages a dealer/salesperson to help us.
I'm only interested in Passats, Blue Anthracite and luxury package. When the dealer arrives I explain that I'm still saving up for a B5, but I wanted to take another look at the blue anthracite color in-person to make sure it's what I want. He seemed to be cool, a guy in his early 20's and I assume he knew something about VWs (my mistake).
He proceeds over to a bunch of Jetta's asking me if this is the color I'm looking for....I looked at him and said, "Ahh, no that's Galatic Blue, ummm....blue anthracite only appears on the Passat." So he looks around and doesn't see any blue anthracites on the lot, so we hop in my wife's Jetta and start to leave when he comes out and says, "Oh we have one around the corner" - So we step out around the corner to a lot full of Audi - Now at this point my disappointment is overwhelming...
To make this story shorter - we finally found a blue anthracite to look at (thanks to other peoples' help), but no test drive - after I specifically said, "I would like to test drive this car." The guy ignored me, that's when I walked out - NOW, HOW SAD IS THAT!? WTF?

Re: Omaha Dealership Story - (dekode)

I know exactly how you feel, I had my parents totally talked into a Passat Variant with 4mo. and I went with them in my car to the dealership for a test drive, our salesmen was a total idiot, "oh the air filter never needs replacing", run whatever gas you want it doesn't really need premium", you should have heard him try to explain how raintronic works.. Needless to say parents are buying the Outback... My dealer where I bought my car from was the best I have ever dealt with unfortunatelly they are in PA, and now I'm in MN.
Don't even get me started on the service dept. at the dealership in Lincoln, NE

HAHA....stay away from Schmelz over there on the St. Paul side. They're nice if you want to buy a new car, but their salespeople do not know what they should. I HATE the attitude at that 'ship. And to top it off, I get parts very cheap at EvS here in Milwaukee and I noticed this last week Schmelz charged me almost 3x as much...Fudgers

Thanks EuroVR6 - But as I told them, I'm just looking right now - saving up to buy. Besides I'm a little fond of buying a new car with 5 miles on it or something like that, weird but true.

Please DO tell.
I'm trying to buy a new Jetta from them and they are making it very hard. It's almost like they don't really care if they sell anything or not. The price they gave me was fair once they got around to giving me one though.
