I know this is off topic...go ahead and lock it i just want to share thats all...

I was at work today... i was waxing this car that belongs to the guy who owns the building...and he tossed me the KEYS!!!! its a 1989 Merc Benz 300E i was like aight dude i dont need to drive it im fine...and hes like naw go ahead youll love it...so i was like whatever...ill just go play around hehe...i didnt even think these things were that fast...But it turned out that this guy had over 300HP pumping into this thing...i dont know the stock specs on it...but when i stepped on it...CHRIST!!! i was flattened against my seat...i was so amazed...this car looked so innocent...and i went on this business park road that was a 25MPH zone...i punched it from a dead stop and smoked some tire but then it caught up at about 20mph...and it was at 80 in no time....i want one so bad now...damn... sorry i just thought id share....lates

no he said hed give me $20 so i wasnt working so i just did it... took me 30 min so thats 40$ an hour dude hehe he said for each of his cars he would give me $20... i was like tightness...

the seats in that thing sucked ass..thats why i thought it would be slow just like a 190 or something... theyre not slow but i mean you know...i didnt think thered be over 300HP. i didnt know that the 300 was like that...but the seats were the top of the line seats they were just ****ty becuase they were like vertical pattern leathers. so it was kinda wierd compared to my dub...but hey im not gonna complain i went 80 in a MERC so i dont give a shyt hahaha

yeah a lot of the 80's seats so suck ass.. except for the recaros in the 190e 2.3-16v.. those are sweet. i think i'd take the 190e 16v over a 300.. factory ground effects / spoiler, 5 spd getrag, etc.. 0-60 is an /ok/ 7.8 or so.. but still.. i love 'em..

Stock specs are 172hp, and its definetly nothing like you described. Though it is slow off the line (weighs alot, its built like a german tank), once its rolling, it moves quite well, and smoothly with that straight 6. Tested my mothers to 60 in 7.2 seconds with a g-tec pro.
