Re: Opinions Wanted: Best tires for under $100 (larkind)

I don't know much about pricing tires, but the last thing I would skimp on would be tires. Find some good tires and pay the price. I bought some Kumho Ecsta's for around 100 apeice and they are pretty good. If I had done my research properly I would have gotten Dunlop p5000 or whatever they are.

Good point. Maybe I should just get the Bridgestone S-03s, then....unless someone can suggest something as good that can save me a few bucks.

good point not skimping on the tires. but that doesnt mean you cant find a decent tire for cheap enough. the kumho 712's are pretty good. ive been using them for a few months now and have no complaints.

You don't need to spend a lot, find the best tire in your price range and get them. Potenza's and Dunlop's really are the best. And make sure you get a GOOD alignment with them. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

If you are looking for the best performance for the dollar, you should get Falken Azenis. The only thing to keep in mind is that you would probably get 12-15,000 miles out of them. They are definitely amazing though. You have to be REALLY pushing it to get the tires to make a sound on my car right now. Plus, they look sweet too. Here is a pic., sorry about the size.

I like my Dunlop FM901s, too. This is my first set of performance tires, so I really don't have anything to compare them to. The Dunlops seem to grip quite well, even in the wet. They're great tires for $77 each.

I am running Bridgestone Potenza RE 950's with just a little over 3k on them and they are great! Good sidewall stiffness, great traction and I think you can get them stock size for $66 on tirerack. The ride is still smooth and quiet also. Overall great tire that I would buy again!

Re: Opinions Wanted: Best tires for under $100 (larkind)

check out the bridgestone re-730. its a step below the s-03 as far as all out performance goes, but its also quieter and has a tread wear rating of 300 vs the 220 of the s-03. i dont think that any of the tires that have been mentioned, except for the re950, are all-season... so if you want all-season, check out the dunlop sp5000. or get snow tires.

Re: Opinions Wanted: Best tires for under $100 (Samson)

Man, I have more choices than I bargained for! Thanks, all.
I am looking to just have performance tires for these wheels, then go back to stock 15" rims with winter tires or all-season when the weather gets crappy.
