I have an original, never rebuilt R32 head in for a full rebuild and upon removing the valve guides, I discovered that it has the 65mm long guides in it from a 2.8 BDF engine. A BJS engine should have the 73.3mm guides in it for the "long" guides. Anybody ever run into this before?
This is 100% a BJS head with the larger/higher ports, undercut intake valves, unique chambers, and 373 C part number.
Maybe VW ran out of 73.3mm guides on the day this head was assembled and they just grabbed a handful from the BDF line? haha
