So today I was working on replacing my battery cables and suddenly I noticed that there were some wires leading up to right underneath the rain tray. Turns out, my ox sensor is just hanging out there...

So today I was working on replacing my battery cables and suddenly I noticed that there were some wires leading up to right underneath the rain tray. Turns out, my ox sensor is just hanging out there...

The O2 Sensor wire is just pressed into the connector up by the Coil (single wire units anyway) and I've seen them get pulled loose from being snagged by road debris, etc.

I actually purposely disconnected mine. It seemed to make my car run rich.

Things aren't as bad as they originally seemed. I had forgotten that on 16v cars the sensor goes to the cat. And my cat was removed by the PO because it was clogged.

So should I completely disconnect it or should I be making a new place to mount it? Thoughts and ideas would be appreciated.

I would suggest getting a bung added to your downpipe and installing the sensor. Probably a good idea to get a new sensor while your at it, the ford one is a pretty affordable replacement.
