Same engine, very different plastic engine covers.
Porsche changed the plastic engine cover to make it look more like a traditional V engine....but I'm thinking it would be a cool "mod" (not a true mod I know) for my future R32. "Wow, it has a Porsche engine?!".."No, the Porsche has a VW engine" http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
I doubt anyone knows for sure but I'll ask....will it fit?

It should fit since it is the same 3.2 15 degree VR6 engine block underneath, I can only think that there might be minor bolt pattern changes, and it might fit under the GOLFs hood, (more space in the Cayenne engine bay...) speculation though...

The Porsche version of the 3.2L VR6 also has a completely different intake manifold,
and if I remember correctly the throttle body points in the opposite direction,
so there's certainly some challenges.

Also the oil filler cap is in the "wrong" place.
I'm going to try this mod as soon as I get my R32.
So, I'll keep everyone posted.

We just got in the vr6 cayennes. it does look like the normal vr6 motor but you do have to realize that the engine is not mounted transversly. So that may be the reason why some of the things your talking about are different

a) def would NOT fit
b) would NOT be a cool mod at ALL
