P1426 error code

I have a error code 1426 changed the purge valve and code cleared on 98 GTI VR6.
Had to change the aftermarket air intake to to the stock air box and now the error code P1426 is back?
Have ordered a CARB legal intake to put in hope that clears the code.

Any other ideas on the cause of the P1426 error code and engine light?

What year? 97 and up also have a Leak Detection Pump under the airbox in the fender well. That will also throw a code P1426.

Make sure you have the N80 valve plugged in.

He says he replaced the valve and it cleared the code....that's why I suggested the ldp. But op you might wanna check the hose that goes to the valve...the cloth covered one that attaches to the side of the air box via metal clips.
