Can u paint the factory front and rear valances on our cars? Has anyone tried this or does anyone have pics? I thought about doing this since I cant afford a real body kit.

Re: painted factory valance (tacurt)

here's mine (more pictures in sig). I've had them painted for about 18 months now and they are holding up real well. It cost me about $150 to get them painted.

That looks sweet. But I would hate to see it getting chipped off by road debries http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

You know, I honestly haven't had any problems with chipping. The paint still looks real good and they didn't sand the valances. Note: when I did this 18 months ago, the idea of sanding the valances before painting hadn't really been promoted yet, but I'd recommend that process today.

Recently, there was a pict of a silver golf that had done the same thing. It looked great. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
Silver golf guy - if you read this - post your pict here. You had just finished some mods and the picts posted were your first ones (you asked us not to be harsh).
I want to paint mine too - but I ski (snow, salt, and sand). Worried about chipping.

Re: painted factory valance (pair o' dubs)

I did it too... paint really sticks to the valences well!
