Can i use the dealer spray can? Will the paint last?
How do i remove the VW emblem from the cover? hairdryer?
Also, how did you guys paint the "20V TURBO" a different color? did you just paint the whole thing, and paint the 20v turbo by hand?
What was your process of sanding? thanks..

Ya i painted the whole thing then i painted the 20V Turbo by hand...then gave it a couple of clear coats to finish it off...
Re: Painting your engine cover (BORA_WE)

isn't the heat a problem, even if you base coat it with high-temp paint?
Does the OEM spray paint stand up well?

So far so good... the base coat AND the clear coat are both high temp with the OEM stuff between.

Re: Painting your engine cover (jettanjax)

can you get the factory matched spray paint at the dealer? how much? and where do you get the high temp base/clear coat paint? thanks!
Re: Painting your engine cover (VeeDub Racer)

The high temp base/clear can be purchased at any auto parts store and I paid $8 for a set of Galactic Blue spray and clearcoat spray from the dealer.
Re: Painting your engine cover (BORA_WE)

I just did mine too. I used ALOT of crayons and a hair dryer.
