I would like to buy this elusive battery from my friend at Autozone, only that they don't list an orange top in the catalog (Otimas web site is useless for VW apps).
I know a few of my fellow dubbers are sporting this orange top battery, and what did you pay for it.

i might have a hookup for you for all optima batteries (btw i got the top/side yellow top...the best of the best - car audio battery too)

How can you safely mount thes things in a VW?
Our brackets are designed for flat sided batteries
and the Optimas are made up of a series of tubes.

i mounted mine just fine.
The negative terminal was SOOO tight t reach. but it did. I just used the stock corrado clampt and it holds fine

I'm leaning on Autozone because I have a red and yellow batteries that are dead. You know, over the counter exchange (free warranty). But I really want the orange top, even if I have to pay for it. The other batteries are going into my other cars.
I'll give your buddy a shot.
