Hi Guys,
This part got torn off of my '03 Golf GLS a few weeks back. Since then I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to identify it and get a proper part number so I can replace it.
Can anyone out there help me ID it?

It's just a lower splash shield, so your engine doesn't get rocks and road debris blasted into it. You don't really need it, but that's your call.

The major reason is to keep water out of the engine compartment. You should not drive the car without it or you risk electrical issues that can leave you stranded.

I experienced this firsthand when the dealership forgot to replace my lower and two side splash shields.

Recall that VW had to add additional shields to the Mk3 due to an issue with the way they where originally produced. The water would cause the accessory drive belt to slip badly.

Thanks for all the quick replies guys. Looking for this part online has been a pain.
For the time being I'll clean and fix the one that fell out, but before winter arrives I'll get a DG Panzer to put in.
