Looking for voices of experience here. For those of you who have had to replace parts on your VW (major ones -- not windshield wipers

), about how long has it taken for the dealership to acquire those necessary parts? My concern is, in the case of major repairs, how long am I going to have to wait for the parts to arrive from Germany (or elsewhere).
Of course, I would like to think they'd just FedEx them, but...

Most of the time the dealers can get parts from their regional depot fairly quickly (2-3 days or less). If really major though (maybe like a transmission), it may have to come from across the pond...

I had a accident were several parts had to be ordered. It took two months for everything. Weel they had to order the emissions decals and they never came in, never. I gave up after a year. http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif
