Passat and corrado fan housings? the same or different

494 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  derrgti
I have a dual fan setup for my mk2, i am not sure if its from a passat or a C.
i found a Corrado dual fan housing (shroud) will it work with the fan setup i have.
and most importantly will the Corrado housing fit in a mk2 vr6. i think it will.

the corrado fan shroud fits the rad and the passat one can work, but needs custom brackets, not too hard

the Corrado fan shroud will fit in an A2 car... but you should only need that setup if you are swapping in a VR6, since the raddo setup is a 3speed setup.
now if the other dual fan setup you have is from a Passat the fans will not fit into the corrado shroud. the 16v passat setup has fans that have 4 blades and the VR6 setup has 8blades that are all connected together at the tops of the blades.
If you are wanting to put dual fans into a 16v car, the best setup is to use Passat 16v or A3 2.0 daul fan setup... they fit to the radiator (some need brackets to extend to the passenger side) and you may have to cut the bottom of the shroud (it may be to deep) but the plug will plug in and you will have the 2 speed fan which is what you have currently.
hoe this helps..
