I just got a reply from D&W regarding the purchase of Hella DE's for my 93 Passat. They quoted me VAT EUR : 399,46 where 399.46 EUR = 556.147 CAD
I got in touch with them through their web site and they are willing to ship to Canada. Does anyone know if duty will be applied by Canada Customs? The above price includes shipping.

Do you know if this price is just for the headlights? Does it include the wiring install kit? Would be curious to know.

I don't speak German but the description translates to this:

In addition to taxes you are also going to have brokerage charges. You may want to find out what the taxes and brokerage fees are going to be in advance, as it may end up being cheaper to buy locally (Rpi-equipped). I recently had a friend ship me a videocard from the states and the fed ex brokerage fees (they suck) were $118. ouch....

I get stuff shipped from Germany on a regular basis. If you ship it via regular post, NOT COURIER, there is a very good chance you will not pay anything as long as the REAL value is not declared.
I get 1 package/month and have only had to pay duty on 1 last year.
