PCV Valve and Oil Consumption

Have any of you seen a reduction in oil consumption after changing your PCV valve(s)?
I'm currently on the "C" version of the intake-side (black plastic) PCV, plus a Eurojet in-line PCV, and consume a quart of Mobil 1 every 2000-2500 miles in relatively low stress driving conditions. The oil usage has been constant since I bought this CPO car with 25,000 miles, and I'm now at 44,000. I'm guessing that the exhaust-side PCV is the original late 2005 version, since there are no records of that being changed.
Has anybody noticed a substantial change in oil consumption with an alternate oil?

Re: PCV Valve and Oil Consumption (dfrost)

there is a new "E" version out that they are replacing to on ALL 07 2.0t's (a4 and a3) and they are replacing that little hose that goes from that to the intake manifold too and that has been helping out a lot.

Do you have the part # for this "e" version by any chance?
Re: PCV Valve and Oil Consumption (terje_77)

let me look it up

the numbers are for the hose (lil hose that goes from valve to intake manifold)
06f 103 221 h
and for the valve.
06f 129 101 e

now if you have a 07 a3 or a4 just take it to the dealership and your car might be part of the update list. and you get the parts for free. if you are under warranty

I just got my 25k service done and they performed 2 recalls free of charge.
-PCV value replacement
-opensky roof clip replacement
I can check the paper work when I get home but I'm guessing I got the 'e' version. My car is a 2007.1
Re: (dzasta)

then you did get the new "e" version
Re: (dzasta)

Is that an actual 'recall' or a Service Bulletin? I have a 2006- do you know if it applies to that model year as well?
Re: (skotti)

They called it a "service action" so most likely not a recall even though they seem like the same thing. *shrug*
If my PCV was faulty would I have felt any hit in performance? It could be placebo but my car feels a little peepier after the service.

Re: PCV Valve and Oil Consumption (vwracin86)

I'm a little confused. Section 2 in this thread: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3366758 says the latest PCV is the "G" version.
