i'd like everyone w/g60 a2 gti's to tell me what exhaust they are using from the block back. right now i've got a TT race downpipe, no cat, TT piping and a borla muffler. I am not happy w/ it or the noise. Some suggestions? thanx

Adding a catalytic converter would lower the noise level some...What TT exhaust do you have? Does it still have the glasspack resonator TT uses?TT sells an extra resonator for some of their systems. Be more specific about what you don't like besides the noise...Anyway, supercharged motors(including the g60) are noisy mothers at best...they move more air, hence more noise. On my g60 golf,I used the TT race d.p.,no cat,and the TT 2.5 vr6 exhaust w/o the center resonator. It was pretty loud.

i've got the TT 2.5 w/both resonators and i just realized tonight how much a tip helps cut down noise, but man it's still loud. the thing i hate about it is...the connection between the down pipe and mid resonator. the weld is always breaking on me, so i tried a flex pipe which broke yesterday and now i'm running a spring clamp style which seems to hindering performance. i'm not getting the nice whoosh sound @10 vac. it's starting now @ 5 boost and slower to build til 13psi.
Re: People with G60 GTI's!!! (MUNICH_VR6)

You should buy a short piece of Stainless Steel Braided Flex pipe...holds up great to problem flexing like that....
I think Adrenalin sell it fairly cheap off there onine web site.
good luck man

I got mine from http://www.roadraceengineering.com . Good people. I got a lot of my gaskets, flanges, and assorted parts for my DIY turbo kit from them.
Re: People with G60 GTI's!!! (MUNICH_VR6)

I have TT race downpipe going into 2.5 inch VR6 exhaust with twin resonators. It's loud. Especially when I get on it.
I add a stainless steel supertrapp muffler for road trips. When I have that installed, I can tune the tone down to a bassy kitty cat purr with the standard cap and 2 or 3 diffusers. I bought a competition cap. I add it to 16 diffusers and it's quiet when cruising and it has a perfect growl when I get on it.

Re: People with G60 GTI's!!! (WasserTuner)

I tried that steel braided flex pipe section all ready and it broke where the coupling and steel braid meet. Llew i'm not sure what you talking about, diffusers? i'd like to know more about that cause it'd be nice to tone the tune @ my choosing.
Re: People with G60 GTI's!!! (MUNICH_VR6)

The diffusers he is talking about are riund discs at the end of the supertrap mufflers...at the end of the mufflers you can adjust the number of discs to control exhuast tones and back pressures......Personally I wouldn't want one on a force inducted engine, probably would affect a turbo car more than a supercharged car though.
As far as your flexing problem I may have a cure for you....
If you are NOT using the cable shift tranny then you could use an uprated motor mount that me and a friend have made...if interested email him about the front motor mount upgrade he has..
