Re: Performance mods (GTI1.8)
AmD's stage I kit is a chip, good for about 260hp
AmD's Stage II 270 kit is chip + Miltek exhaust, good for 270hp (dyno proven)
AmD's Stage III 300 kit is chip + exhaust + cams, and they claim (and other people say they've
got independent dynos to prove it) 300hp.
Z-engineering in Europe has a S/C kit good for about 320-330hp
VF-engineering here in the US has a S/C kit good for 320hp $4500 US
HPA's stage I Twin Turbo kit is good for 425hp (and is very very expensive)
HPA's stage II Twin Turbo is good for a proven 550hp (Aprox $20,000 USD, but you're talking $50-55k
including the car to run with Ferrari's and Porsche Twin Turbos)
and HPG's (HPA's European sister) Stage III Twin Turbo produces about 600hp
HPA says they've got a single turbo kit in the works that should make about 350hp, and run $7000 or so.
HPA also says they're looking at a NA path as well (probably comparable to AmD 270 and 300 kits)
I'm sure EIP will jump on this bandwagon soon, as they've been showing off their MkIV turbo kits recently.
We haven't even heard from Garrett, or DSR yet, but since Garrett did
the software for VF's S/C kit, I'm guessing his NA chip will be out very shortly.
