Thats me preping my old mans car before he heads out for a day of racing.

My old man poses for a pic in front of the new Ferrari Enzo. Notice the 360 Modena in the background.

Thats me sitting in the same pit spot that the Nascar's take off from.

If you look close, thats a Ferrari 333SP coming out of the infield on to the front stretch.

Here I am waiting at pit out.

Playing with the Nav system while awaiting departure from the pits.

Here we go baby! Turn 1 off the front stretch, notice the new Lamborghini Mercielago leading the pack.

Here I am coming on to the front stretch. Thats my old mans Detomaso Pantera in front.
Well, I have to admit, I had a blast driving my 337 on the track. The car really handles the turns and high speed straights very well. Driving on a race track is really an exciting experience and learning "the line" is very interesting. It amazing how if you keep the proper line and a much faster car does not, you can out corner them and come out of the turns much faster then they can, which really doesn't matter anyway because once you hit the straight away's they disappear anyway. Sorry about the low quality pics as they are scans. I forgot to bring my digital camera that day. Enjoy.

As far as the Enzo pic goes, who gives a flying fark about the Modena in the background? You've got one of 349 Enzos in front of you! I guess I'm somewhat desensitized to the Modena. They're about as common as Honda Civics where I'm from.

The layout of the track is a 2.5 mile Tri-Oval but for the event they made so after turn 2, you turn into an infield and go through some nice hairpin turns and end up coming back out on to the front straight.
As far as being descentized to 360 modena's, I don't I could ever get descentized to any Ferrari, EVER!

Descentized? Is that what they do to skunks? Hehe...

How fast did you get up to on the straight? What group did you go with? I had the chance to go with NASA, but I've heard a lot of bad things about the condition of the track. I know they stopped racing motorcycles there after a few guys died. And, it's all flat!
Glad to see you had fun. I'm just now reading the C&D article about the Enzo. I didn't realize how rare they were. Gorgeous car! http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Ok, ok, I'll tell you the secret. My old mans club ran the event and they split the track time into groups:
Green Group - New Drivers with instructors
White Group - New Drivers without instructors
Blue Group - Advanced drivers with not superfast cars or vice versa
Red Group - For the maniac's with the crazy cars and crazy drivers
At lunch time they have a Touring session which you were basically allowed to take any car on the track but you were "supposed" to stay under 80 mph and no passing was allowed. This was for like taking family members out to show them the track. I took the 337 on during this session but I'll tell you now, not one person on that track was going under 80 mph. Towards the end of the session there was only about 5 cars on the track and we were driving as hard as you would in one of the groups. I got it up to about 130 mph on the back straight. My car has zero engine modifications as of right now so I was pretty impressed. Most of the day was very depressing because you see the luxury of other people with insane amounts of money.

The enzo was really an amazing car, while sitting inside the car you get the feel that you are inside a machine, not a car. It's like every single part on the car was manufactured to perfection, even the paddles which are contoured to your hand for shifting. It was a little odd looking into the foot well and only seeing two pedals though.
