I had to go into work today to do some $hit and I was going past the VW dealer on the way home so I stopped to snap some shots...they had one that had it. I wish that I checked the date that it was built so that people would know if there car would have, but I didn't check, sorry. Anyway here are the pics! You can see that the Blue Lagoon one next to it in one of the pics didn't have it...they only had one that had it. Edit (The tail pipes are not chrome they are just regular cut exhaust pipes)

Yup, that's exactly what I saw at Osborne VW here in Denver http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
For others not already following along in the other thread. The 4Motion valance and straight back dual tip exhaust are a running change on the 180 HP Jetta 1.8T (the first ones hit my dealer last week, the pics above are from cars just off the truck). So far I've only seen them on the 5-speed, but I'd assume that any new 1.8T's from this point out.

Yeah, the tips are like twice the diameter of the tubing. Normally not an issue if the tips were positioned with less gap to the notch in the 4Motion valance, but since they sit so low, it looks kinda kludged.

Like I mention in the other thread, I checked with the parts department at Osborne. So far ETKA (the software the dealers look parts up with) has not been updated to show this change. It only has one part number listed for the 2002's (and its the same P/N as the 2001s, 2000s, and 1999.5s).
New ETKA software is shipped to the dealers each month. So we'll have to wait a little for the dealers to be able to find it to order.

Correct. They 180 HP Jettas are coming with the rear only. The front is the regular U.S. spec part we've had since the beginning

quote:

hmm i wonder ... ive been thinking about the 4mo valence, but didnt u notice Kendalls bumper .. it was a little off. Is that why we need euro bumpers?

Yeah do you need euro bumpers, or does this Jetta for example have a US spec one?
And I just noticed - is this Jetta de-badged? or does the dealer put the badges on

That Jetta is not debadged. Its fresh off the truck and the badges are mounted (just under the white plastic protective covering).
I don't have the 4Motion valences, but I'm under the distinct impression that the Jetta doesn't need the Euro Bumpers.

My advice. Go to the dealer. Get a flexible tape measure and go from wheel well edge, around the bumper, to the edge of the cutout.
Try that against the positioning of the TT tips.
And ask the parts/dept when they'll be updated w/02 p/n's.

Re: Pics of 4 motion stock valence on 02 1.8T! (BoraVR6)

i guess we'll find out. Peter @ Thescirocco.com has told me it works fine, but the TT exh rubs against the lower valence. it doenst rub bad b/c the exh dont actually hit it in non-moving state. i plan to have http://www.Volkcessories.com do it for me. They are located in Arvada off of 38th and Sheridan. They quoted me a price of $60 labor. That other place u recommended quote considerably higher.
Hopefully i get it on this coming week ..

that's really cool. My car was built in October, so this must be a very, very new running change. Sorry I missed out on the 4mo valence. Looks like I'll have to put one on with the forced-motion exhaust!
