Went on the manly dam ride... wow! what a ride... some crazy technical bits but all rideable if you have the suspension, confidence, guts and skills...
had a ball... went with a few friends....
also my new bike left me grinning ear to ear, the absolute bombproof travel with non pedal bob... sure stopping power of discs and nice light wheelset... noone came near me

I am going to buy some slick tyres for my MTB since I never go off road.

Nice bike Rob ... but, can you chip it?

oh yeah!... well @ least octane booster via a powerbar....
i bought this bike with pretty much no intention of upgrading it
i've found that basically spending the $$ upfront is helluva lot cheaper than upgrading it.... eg - rear shock is worth around $800 and front shock is worth $1000 but the bike is $2600... apparently just the frame alone separately is over $2K
i have added a few personal touches... rear stay protector (for the chain), bottle holder from the old bike, pump from the old bike, speedo, ergo seat.....
looking forward to the tyres wearing out and going for a semi slick since i do so much road riding....
actually doing oaks fire trail in the blue mtns on Sat 5th June...

Maybe get a 4WD then, most ppl use them for the same reason.
