Finally got some pics scanned in of my boost guage install.
A little paint, a little time, and a little patience. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: pics of my boost guage install (drm916)

autometer -- it's backlit lighting. The red bulb condom matches the red interior pretty good, but the entire face is lit up by the red. On the other hand, the VDO guage only has the needle and the numbers lit up by the bulb.

If you look in the import section of Autozone, they have blue bulbs that are the same ones that Autometer uses. (if they use the same bulbs in the 2 1/16 as they do in the 2 5/8

Check out http://www.donjer.com Buy the suede-tex 'mini flocker' in silver and you won't be disappointed. I used this stuff on my gauge pod and it is awesome. I will try to post pics tomorrow from work. The finish is exactly like the material found inside the center console of your car. Short nap fuzz. Beautiful. and easy to do.

Just curious - what do you mean NOPE - you have a 2001 Wolfsburg - did you take your side airbag out??? That car has 10 airbags (trust me I've counted them)...

Re: pics of my boost guage install (Gambit)

Definitely NOPE. There are NO a-pillar or curtain airbags. I've got 'em in the steering wheel, passenger side dash, and in the sides of the seats. There are no other airbag stickers in the car. Could be a difference between American and Canadian VW's though. (?)
Little p -- I hope you post your pics! Your setup is pretty sweet...very OEM looking. I ended up for the ultra cheap route and got the $5 can o' spray paint
I definitely like the look of yours though! Nice 'n smooth.
I found the paint too...it's called "Navy Aggressor Gray", from "Model Master". The numbers on the top of the can are "1994" and "FS 36251".
thanks for the comments!
