Re: Pics of my "custom" cold air intake (vagvr6)

No different views yet. I'll get some.. Charcoal canister is sitting on it's side right near the pipe. It sounds great. Not as loud as a p-flow for some reason. It's more high pitched.

Thanks.. 3" aluminum piping mandrel bent to fit the area. 7" long K&N filter with 3" opening, 3" intake reducer to connect the pipe to the MAF, Stainless hose clamps. I also coated the pipe with high temp engine enamel and wetsanded it to the finish you see there.

I know a bunch of people that have thier canister mounted on its side, and they have had no proiblems. Mines ists right next to my PRM inside my heatshield box. Its on slant upwards, and fits nicely. All you see is an heatshield box with no idea of whats under it, haha

Re: Pics of my "custom" cold air intake (GTIVR6RACER4EVER)

i won't mess with the charcoal canister over there. at the bottom there is a nipple that will let out the gas fumes when on its side. i just disconnected the lines (kept the soloniod plugged in) and ran the tubes into the hole made by the cc.

Re: Pics of my "custom" cold air intake (1lowVento)

I have a 2.0 and want to do the same thing.. I'm sure the airboxes are very similar between the two. So I was wondering what you did with the vacumn lines and the air pump that were connected to the stock box.
Thanks.
