goto http://www.autobodypartsonline.com/ and buy yourself a fender for 34 bucks and put it on. Then when you have some cash, take it off and get it painted at a reputable body shop for like 80 bucks and your good as new
.

The trick will be...

The trick will be finding the fender that goes with my car... The 94 GLXs had the castle in the fender.

I'll have to give them a call to see if they have the right part, but you can't beat $40 for a good part!!!!

Re: The trick will be... (Wholsea)

is the recess for a side marker on the euro fender in the same spot? maybe that would be eaier to find than a '94
Re: The trick will be... (VR6roar)

Not sure, it may be, I think they may have just plugged the light hole with the badge.... ('94 was the last year for the GLX to come from germany) -- WOOHOO WVW vin number!

Re: The trick will be... (Wholsea)

If you can spare a bit more cash, you can get the euro fenders with the OVAL sidemarkers, they are fairly rare overseas and VERY rare over here.. Momentum can get em now, can't remember how much.. I tried to get em 6 months ago but was told no can do

Re: The trick will be... (LostBoyScout)

I'd have to replace both sides.... Blech, this route may be cheaper... I mean, one fender is like $30, the paint is going to be the PITA tho... Maybe I'll go to a vocational school pay my $90, and learn how to paint... Then go borrow some tools and re-spray myself
hahahaha Whatever... This whole thing just sucks.. I totally don't want to call the insurance company, they are just itching for another reason to jack up my already expensive insurance!!!

Re: The trick will be... (Wholsea)

You could paint the whole car! That is what is happening to me. The front fender got messed up in a curb incident, so I took it off, got another one and was going to get it painted. Then I figured that I should learn how to paint, so now the whole car is disassembled and I plan on painting it during Christmas break. Basically all that is needed for a beautiful paint job is a spray gun, some air filtration equipment and LOTS of sanding. Get a book on painting and check it out. BoB
Re: The trick will be... (NorthDakota2.0)

Dang Ben that sucks sucks. I found someone over in the classifieds selling OEM with the square for only 65. If you buy two. I will buy two also. We can split shipping.
Re: The trick will be... (Wholsea)

http://www.skperf.com has the Euro-Fenders for $69.

Looks cool, but I am thinkin I want to stick with the castle fender.... The light is cool, but the castle is cooler

(I am kinda attached to it)

I think the MK3 cabbies had the same fenders. you may want to check and see if one of those would work.
Re: The trick will be... (late_apex)

Yeah, but I'd have to shave the part where the antenna goes... :-(
I'll figure something out...

Re: Pics of my game of chicken with a deer (Wholsea)

my friend had the EXACT same damage to his 95 golf from a deer 2 weeks after he got his license (well he's a moron and has a lead foot
).
anyway, his dad owns a body shop and he just banged it out. Try getting a rubber hammer and doing it yourself (hey its worth a shot-its free) you can return the hammer to the store later.
Theres also a tool like a reverse sledge, that might be useful. (i can't remember the name). You drill a hole in the panel, put it in and pull.
Do a search on the net on metalworking tips.

Re: Pics of my game of chicken with a deer (EuroStyle)

Yeah ABS did not kick in. I down shifted and jammed the brakes, it could have been a lot worse, I thought I was just going to miss him when I heard the *POP*!! Luckily it was only the fender, but $50 is $50 I don't have right now (Damn the tech market!!!) Anyone know anyone hiring web developers???
