I couldn't find a 9xx that can decode MP3s besides the besides the 90HDD. Does one exist?

Pioneer DEH P940 should be out within the month of march. I couldn't wait so I got the Alpine 7878 instead and I am very very happy with it. Unfortunately it's being replaced with the 7879.

Could someone please explain what is so special in the organic screens? The resolution is small and text is distorted, screensavers are ugly, steals all space...
I personally didn't like the 7400MP because it is cheaply made (yes, yes, it is like driving Civic after Golf), the screen is useless and the sound is so-so.
Compared to Nakamichi 45z soundwise this thing is only okay. Compared to build quality of Clarion it is okay too. Why do people like it?

I'm having the same dilema, which CD/MP3 HU to get. Please checkout my forum. I've narrowed my choice to the following, by all means your needs may be different to mine:

Do you know the delay time between tracks on those headunits? That was my biggest turnoff of the Pioneer - I read 3-5 seconds - an eternity in my mind.

3-5 seconds?? holy crap, something must been wrong with that one! i've had two pioneers, an old deh-1000 or something in my old sentra, and a deh-7300 in my jetta, i love it, works great, always, all the time

Yea - but this is the new mp3 player - i'm sure it works differently than a standard cd player since you have thousands of songs/files to access on a single disc.

Just checked, no mention of any delay time. I've opted for the JVC KD SH99, found a very good review. You'll have to click onto my forum .
There is only an intial 10 sec, load time when you first insert the CD into the drive, this is standard on all MP3 in-dash receivers I searched. The HU has to first load the MP3, but during playback there is no delay in access time as long as you organise the TRACKS into folders correctly.
