it would be nice to see some dubs at the track. the all import night is friday, aug 16th. usually no more than 3 dubs on any given t&t night, and none on weekends. so, bring'em out and do some brackets on the 16th. for more info, go to http://www.keystoneraceway.net

Man, Keystone is pullin' out the stops. First they add a Tuesday night tnt to the Thursday night tnt, and now some import action. Pair that with the Beaverun and it's lookin' like da burgh is getting a respectable legit scene.
Friday night? I'LL BE THERE!!!
C'mon out folks, support your scene, there are more AMCs and 'murican trucks that run on an average test n tune night than there are VWs. Why don't VWs get the respect that Honda's do? See the previous sentence.
C'mon out!

Yeah, I'm busy being unemployed. Really. It's amazing how much I find myself getting into when I've got the time. There isn't enough time in day even without a job. Nuts. Good to hear that the car is going again. What was knockin'?
Let me know when you want to go up to Beaverun, I'd very very into that journey.
Re: pittsburgh area- drag racing aug 16th- come out (Andrew Stauffer)

This sounds sweet, how do I get there and how much does it cost. I would love to have a chance to open my car up. Let me know some details. Thanks

my buddy from my old area will be up there in a 02 GTI 1.8t with stock 17's....he's a definite that's for sure. Originally i was supposed to be back in the area to run the strip but work schedule has changed and unless I can convince some peeps to work for me dont expect to see a really 1.8t there..

if ur refering to keystone, directions are on the web link. as for beaver run, i have yet to go. my friend took his subaru wagon up, said it was more fun than any racing he has done. he wedged a video camera in his passenger side headrest, the video looks fun as F. Thats why i really want to go up. i may buy a 200 buck beater just for it, lol. all u need is seatbelt, and a helmet.

What's the deal w/Beaver Run?
Can't make it to Keystone, that Fri is a GTG at my future parent-in-law's to go over wedding stuff and have a dinner w/those that are coming from out of town for the wedding on Sat.

Andrew, when did ya become unemployed?

Sailor, I need to get that AGB tranny to ya soon! I'll be in Gbg on the 16th, should have the tranny in my trunk still. I'll try to get a hold of you...
Laters,
Tim

Re: pittsburgh area- drag racing aug 16th- come out (vw16vcabby)

I went there for the first time on my birthday, July 25th., for the usual thursday night grudge match. It was AWESOME, but I only saw one other VW (given it was the 337 GTI... are you on these threads?) who was running in the 15's. I have a 225 TT coupe and was running in the 14's, and there was another Audi there too.
Come on VW/Audi people!!!! This track is nice and new. We can all meet up together if you want and head down there together en-mass. The people drive around in their Civic's and Acura's like they are the [email protected]!, lets smack them down a bit!
Remember, check in time is at least 8 o'clock, I recommend getting there by at least 7 to get a couple runs in.
Re: pittsburgh area- drag racing aug 16th- come out (uflnuceng)

I want in sooobad. Let's set something up to go to this. We can GTG first and roll out as a group. We'll show those Hondas what's up. I'll end my ghetto style now, but I would really like to go. Come on PGH let's set something up.
Armand
PS, I have a 337, but that was not me at the track.
Re: pittsburgh area- drag racing aug 16th- come out (newbeetle1981)

I think its $15 for the night to get in and race. If it is just us import street cars (no slicks and no motorcycles) we should be able to get a decent number or funs in each. They are quite efficient.
Re: pittsburgh area- drag racing aug 16th- come out (uflnuceng)

I was there on the 25th as well, how could you guys possibly overlook a Rabbit

I saw your TT, I saw the 337, but I never saw you guys at your cars.
The 337 was from Connelsville, I think.
The strip is pretty nice since it's been repaved, the scene is pretty big, although there are few VWs, as usual. There was a guy in a pimped out A3 running high 17s....on fire.....
Anyway, as stated, you can't tech in to race after 8. I try to get there at 5 or 5:30 so I've got 3 runs in by then, but it's not far from my house so it's easy for me. Yikes, I'd better get the Rabbit bolted back together, it's almost time to race!

the 16th will be open classes i believe. this won't be a 15 bucks t&t as many runs as u can get until they close deal, but a real race setup. So of course, no bikes or drag tired cars.
tim- will be at the track on the 16th, so that aint no good! Maybe i can get u to drop it off at teh garage or something.
And as for the talk of knocking off hondas- can't talk smack until u win.... Fastest vw i know of in this area was a rabbit that only ran high 13's. I'm sure this could be proved upon w/ the "track legal" completion of two cars, plus the countless other project cars in the area near completion, that vw brand should be in 12's. But face it, we are behind the japanese owners in this area. There are STREET DRIVEN dsm's in 10's, hondas in low 12's (and a few on the street scene in 11's), and nissans runnning close to 11's, low 12's consistently. And the sad thing is, there are cars that beat them out street racing, but WILL NEVER step foot on a legal track. Gives u something to think about- Allways someone w/ more money, more knowledge, or more skill.
anyways, just be nice to have some vw's out in effect. Get some of you people who normally wouldn't drag race into it. And if u like meets w/ food- Keystone got an awesome conscession stand!!!

I'm gonna try to make it, but I won't be running. They require a liscense, I don't get mine back until 9/28. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: pittsburgh area- drag racing aug 16th- come out (firebreathingbunny)

fire- have someone drive ur car to the track, then u can run it.
andrew- the 337 is from c-ville. it's Gordon's. Also, get ahold of me, i think i may be able to help you out w/ a problem you got.
also, they are having classes for import night- like stock 4 cyl, stock 6, turbo, all motor, etc. i will post specifics when i find out. trying to get more info than what the track has posted.

Don't they require a liscense to run?
Re: pittsburgh area- drag racing aug 16th- come out (firebreathingbunny)

e-mail the track director and find out for 100%. w/ it having new owners, may be a bit more strict on rulings. But i do know of a few people who have run w/ suspended lisc. when it was the old keystone.
Re: pittsburgh area- drag racing aug 16th- come out (vw16vcabby)

I definately want to go, can we all meet up somewhere and roll there together? I'm from downtown, so I can meet whereever? Let me know, but I'm in on this one for sure.

Re: pittsburgh area- drag racing aug 16th- come out (Andrew Stauffer)

Andrew do happen to live on I think its 711?
here are teh classes from what i have found out-
4 cyl all motor, 6 cyl all motor
4 cly power adder, and 6 cyl power adder.
for power adder- nos, turbo, or s/c apply. all motor is self explan. This is bracket racing! Usually alot of automatics driven by girls who run perfect times and cut decent lights. My friends x took it the one yr in an auto, lol.
as for meeting up- i'll prob be at the garage all day doing last minute stuff to make sure my car passes tech. im hoping to get kicked off the track after my 1st pass.
