pizzy's smoked bumper lights--is it just me???

i got pizzy's smoked bumper lights in the mail today and i have to say i'm a little let down. i was under the impression that these were being made by a european manufacturer that made ones that are the same quality as our stock orange ones. the ones i got say "made in tiawan" on them and, to be honest, seem to be made from a less sturdy plastic. as far as the color goes, i actually thought i had been shipped the clear ones until i stared at them for a while. i expected them to be darker. holding the stock one in one hand and the smoked one in another, the smoked one just felt lighter and looked a little "chintzy" compared to the orange one.
i hate to rain on everyone's parade, but i'm just being honest about my reaction. i know this is the best thing we have offered right now as far as smoked bumper lights go, but i honestly expected to be a little more impressed.

I have pizzy clears, and I love 'em. Who cares if they are made in Taiwan, they are of good quality plastic IMO. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

...guess i just feel a little misled. i mean, wasn't MHW supposed to be making these? i was under the impression that they were a german company. i don't understand why a german product would say made in tiawan. call me crazy...
Re: pizzy's smoked bumper lights--is it just me??? (speedmetalgti)

Yeah, I thought they were MHW too. Until I realized the sticker that read "MHW" was printed on stick-on label using a laser printer... oh well. The clears look good, I don't feel too "ripped off".

i do agree that i thought it would be a little darker...something similar to the smoked
side blinkers (the ones that u can buy @ potters or the dealership). have to say
that even tho its made in taiwan, the quality is still good.
overall i'm happy. thanks pizzy.

I have the clear corners from pizzy and I cant complain. At 1st I thought they would be made in Germany.....but the fact that they're made in Taiwan doesn't bother me one bit. They still look great. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

A free http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif for 2kjetta guy. I saw the prototype of his corners in person, and there was no difference between it and the stock amber light. Now he has finished them and the final form is amazing quality.

Check them out if you are dissatisfied with the Pizzy smoked corners.

I too thought they were mhw, after seeing the photo posted yesterday I figured that the lens just appeared to be light maybe due to a reflection of the camera flash.
I have mhw side indicators and I can assure they are DARK, very dark when compared to the units available from VW.
I was hoping for a tint as dark as my mhw side indcators.
Whats the story behind 2K jetta Guy's are his a true manufactured tinted lense or just his clear kit sprayed with tint from the inside? The picture looks REAL good.
Re: pizzy's smoked bumper lights--is it just me??? (speedmetalgti)

hey.. what's wrong with being made in taiwan?

[if they say made in tiawan.. heh. that's bad]

pizzy's smoked bumper lights are not as dark as 2kjettaguy.
sorry that i can't take pix..i don't have a scanner or a digital camera.
i guess the best way to describe them is they are between the clears and
2kjettaguy's smoked.

Hell no! my clear plastic is dyed before the lenses are cast with black dye. You would not believe how long it took to find a black dye that wasn't a dull shade of brown or purple. The results are flawless. Tint spray and flourescent lighting plastic is gone. No ghetto jobs here. (excuse the term senor steez
)
