[Forklift]

I need a cheap oil pump (see this thread for why http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4807588). I can get a PL pump for $25 from volkswaparts.com. Is this possible/okay? If so, would it be bad for the engine in the long term?
From what I've read about these pumps, the extra flow on the 9A is mainly for at low rpm/idle.

the pl pump in a 9a will flow less oil @ idle and low rpm.
not much extra flow, it is because the 2L pump drive turns @ a lower rpm so needs bigger gears
this is a fact and don't make me write out the demsnional and shaft reduction proof

I have heard of people using a 2L 8v pump by dissasembling the two pumps
heating the gear on the 16v drive shaft and pressing the shaft out. repeating with the 8v drive shaft and gear
then pressing the new gear on the 16v shaft and assembling into the 8v pump.

the reduced flow IS a big deal. don't do it. you run the potential of wasting your thrust bearing
