Alright here is the problem, My car will not start until I unplug the coolant temp sensor. If I plug it in while the car is running it will die. If I let it warm up and then plug it in it still dies. I've replaced the coolant temp sensor, and checked all the wires leading to the plug. Does anyone have any idea? Please help the car has no power with the temp sensor not hooked up.
thanks

Re: Please explain what the hell is going on. (Tornado2dr)

Hmmm, could there be a short in one side of the wires that runs from the sensor to the ECU? With the connector unplugged, the short doesn't go to ground. Plug it in, the loop is closed and maybe it does. Dunno, but that's my SWAG at this point. I've never heard of this happening before.
^bump^ for someone who might have a clue

Re: Please explain what the hell is going on. (DonL)

The engien will shut off if it gets too hot, so it sounds like you ahve a wire grounding or shorting out some where like DonL said. I've had this happen on a CIS-E 8v before, so I'm going strictly by associated application here. Even though you have a motoronic car.
