so...2.8 gti, is overheating
now, when i first popped the hood after turning the motor off. I noticed the fans werent running(which after a short cruise, they always are running)
anyways, i figured it was a bad thermo switch...so i pulled off the wiring harness on the left side of the radiator(which is the backside of the thermo switch of course) and checked for power
power was good...so i creatied a jumper with a piece of wire...and wa la...the fans kicked right on
so i think everythings fine, i call the auto parts store and order the new thermoswitch...and leave the "jumper wire" on ...so the fan is running constantly
i drive home...and my water temp is still off the scales hot!
does anyone think the thermostat could be stuck close? would that cause this...any replys are greatly appreciated...
