Re: Polished engines????? (TurboGTIme)

Janitor007 (7:43 PM 2-3-2003): sent a pic of my manifold if u want a pic of a polished one eight t manifold ask Hi Tek for pics of his thanks alot .. hope u enjoy sanding
Janitor007 (7:44 PM 2-3-2003): here is how to polish the manifold .... i started by removing the plastic engine coverings and masking off everything in the bay by covering it with plastic bags and stuff to prevent dust from invading the entire engine bay
Janitor007 (7:45 PM 2-3-2003): here are the grits i use 80,180,220,400,600,800,1000,1200,2000
Janitor007 (7:47 PM 2-3-2003): start with the 80 grit and take down and get all the pits u can ... and get it as smooth as u can with that grit ..... this is the most important grit cause it takes most of the work and time .... !!!! rember always sand in the same direction !!! if u go in the opposite of what u started u will get scratches so u have to sand in the same direction the whole time
Janitor007 (7:47 PM 2-3-2003): after the 80 keep increasing grits as nessassary ... until u reach 800 at 800 and after wetsand ...
Janitor007 (7:48 PM 2-3-2003): it took me six hours to do mine
Janitor007 (7:48 PM 2-3-2003): the 1.8t manifold was easier ... cause its flat and straight ... that took less time ... good luck hope this helped
