Re: Pontiac Grand Prix "G-Force" Concept (the flying grape!)

Yeah, and now they're turning away from cladding and hopefully grey plastic too we can see the results of improvement inside and out- the interior looks pretty neat from what I can see.

Actually, it does look very decent, but I think It has more Grand Am in it than Grand Prix.

Note: I think the bottom two pics are Grand Am pics...
But I digress. Okay, so the cladding's gone, but that doesn't mean it looks any better. And while the interior seems to be an improvement, it still suffers from Pontiac's "let's throw more air vents in there because we can!" syndrome

So they're turning away from cheap grey plastic and embracing cheap beige plastic I guess. It's an improvement, though.

You're right. I screwed up, the bottom 2 pics are the Grand Am Hot Wheels car.
Here's a real pic of the Grand Prix back end.

...and the interior shot IS the Grand Prix.

Yup.

Wow! I love the 3800 V6, and now there is something not half bad to put it in. I test drove a GP before and loved the powertrain and cushy ride, but could not get over the "interior by rubbermaid" look!

No if only they keep the interior tasteful and use good quality plastics we may see a revival.

quote:

I wonder how many "it's ribbed...for your pleasure" jokes the Pontiac folks had to endure before they finally got rid of that stupid cladding.
ACK! That car is Mulberry colored!

The Grand Prix has not had ribbed cladding since the early '90s. the current bodystyle never had it.

Interior ABS plastic is the same material regardless of manufacturer. And most automotive manufactuers use similar plastics, and have for decades. Polyvinyl-coated urethane foam in different tectures for the basic dash, and ABS and metal in the switchgear.

Re: Pontiac Grand Prix "G-Force" Concept (Chris V)

Will Pontiac make this GP avail with a manual this time around? Doubtfull I bet.
-The GTP would be deadly quick if it had a stick.
my definition of deadly is 0-60 under 7 ticks.
PS- I see a little 300M/Intrepid...
